History
When the valley of Eisack was not walkable, Ritten was the most important way for medevil
kings to get to Rome. More than 60 Imperators used this way. Ritten was also the oldest
summer vacation area of South Tyrol. The traditional vacation houses of rich bolzaninos
date back to the 16th century. In these times they had to use real horse power. In August
1907 Rittner train was put into operation, connecting still today Klobenstein and
Oberbozen.

You may attend concerts of local bands, lectures by authors, the famous open air
theatre "Rittner Sommerspiele", cabaret or discos.

In Klobenstein you find everything from food and drinks, boutiques, traditional wear
and shoes to farmacies, jeweleries as well as the small shops where you find everything in
one place...

Sightseeing
The Earth Pyramids in Lengmoos/Mittelberg are a geological miracle. Also various small
churches and chaples as well as old farms and huts are worth visiting. Lots of castles,
fortresses and lakes which formed history in Europe sourround this area. The historic part
of Bozen with shops, boutiques and cafés and lots of churches and domes make it a center
of culture and leisure.
