EARTH PYRAMIDS - MARIA SAAL - MITTELBERG

From Klobenstein you pass the famous earth pyramids and go to the small church of Maria Saal and then the slightly climbing road to Bad Süß, an old place of sane springs in a beautiful surrounding. Then you turn to Tann and return via Kematen to Collalbo/Klobenstein.


TRIP WITH THE SMALL RITTNER RAILWAY AND RETURN ON FOOT


The historic small Rittner railway, takes you hourly to Sprabolzano/Oberbozen. Once arrived, you'll cross the village on foot and follow the blue/white/blue No. 1 signs up to Lichtenstern, from which you can take an extra trip to Wolfsgruben to visit the only bee museum in South Tyrol at Plattnerhof, the oldest farm of Ritten. Afterwards you can take the promenade No. 1 to Klobenstein. To reach the Restaurant Rittner Stube you have to walk from Oberinn along the main road for a while. Next to the restaurant there is a small way (blue/white/blue No. 1A) that leads directly to the SPORTHOTEL SPÖGLER in Lengmoos. This trip takes about 1 hour, 2 hours including the trip to the bee museum.

HIKING TO THE RITTNER HORN


One of the highlights of your holiday. The panoramic lift of the Rittner Horn takes you to the Schwarzspitze (2044 m) and there you wander to the top (2264 m), the Rittner Horn wher you see the skiing slopes and have a overwhelming 360° panoramic view of the Dolomites. Passing the hut of Unterhorn, through the alms of Barbian you get back to the hut and to your car.

WANDERUNG NACH ANTLAS (ST. ANDREAS)


You have the possibility to leave your car at the parking area next to the church (St. Ottilie, a gothic church built in 1867) in Lengstein. From here go on till you reach the Gasthof Kirchner, and follow the way marked by an "L" down to the forest. After half an hour going down you'll reach the old farm Zunerhof which has opened a small restaurant recently. From there you get on a tiny way to the small chapel St. Andreas (built in 1592). Way back: starting from Zunerhof, in a northward direction, you'll reach Lengstein in about one hour.
This trip takes you about 90 minutes.

ROUNDTRIP TO WOLFSGRUBEN- WOLFSGRUBNER LAKE


Starting from Collalbo/Klobenstein take the blue/white/blue way No. 1/A to Lichtenstern, then turn towards Wolfsgruben, pass the bee museum and keep on walking on blue/white/blue way No. 8. which will take you back to Klobenstein.
It is really worth to take an extra trip to the Mittersteiler Lake, where you can enjoy a wonderful panorama, and admire an ancient roman place of finding.
